Dip & Doze Bedding FAQs
What size is a UK king size duvet and bedding set?
A UK king size duvet measures 225 x 220 cm, and a standard king size bedding set includes this plus two 50 x 75 cm pillowcases. Fitted sheets measure 150 x 200 cm and fit mattresses up to 30 cm deep. Always double-check the listing if your mattress is unusually chunky or shaped - there's nowt worse than a corner that won’t tuck.
How often should you change or wash your bedding?
Most people wash bedding every 1–2 weeks, which keeps sweat, dust mites, and allergens at bay. In warmer months or if you have allergies, weekly is wisest. Pillowcases often need a bit more attention - especially if you’ve got sensitive skin. Dip & Doze bedding is made to handle regular washes without losing its softness.
Should you wash new bedding before first use?
Yes, it’s best to wash new bedding before first use to lift any factory residues and relax the fabric. Even though organic cotton sets like Dip & Doze arrive pristine, a gentle wash helps soften fibres and improve breathability. Pop it on a mild cycle with gentle detergent, then you’re good to go.
What temperature should you use to wash cotton bedding?
Most quality cotton bedding stays lovely at 40°C, which is warm enough to clean without being harsh. For allergies or extra grubby whites, a 60°C wash now and then is fine. Just don’t overdo the heat - it can take the softness out over time. Always check the care label before washing.
Which are the most durable organic cotton bedding sets?
The most durable organic cotton bedding sets use long-staple fibres and tight weaves for lasting strength. Dip & Doze sets are made from certified organic cotton, garment-washed for softness, and skip plastic zips or trims - so fewer bits to break. They’re built to thrive wash after wash. How do you care for Dip & Doze bedding to keep it soft and long-lasting?
To keep Dip & Doze bedding soft and long-lasting, follow our care tips. Wash at 40°C with gentle detergent, skip the softener, and line dry if possible (or tumble dry low). Iron on medium if you fancy it. Store in a cool, dry spot out of direct sunlight.
Where can I donate or recycle old bedding sustainably?
You can donate or recycle old bedding sustainably through textile banks, animal shelters, or local charities - just make sure it’s clean. Council recycling points or some big supermarkets also take worn-out linens. Even threadbare bits can become rags or insulation. Learn more in our blog, The Murky World of Textiles Recycling.
How does Buy Me Once decide which bedding to stock?
We choose bedding through a careful research process looking at durability, sustainability, and ethics. If it’s not built to last, it doesn’t make the cut. You can read all about our standards on the Buy Me Once research process page.
